Data Warehousing in the 21st Century
In this seminar, Ken Orr presents a framework for data warehousing in the 21st Century. Mr. Orr has coined the term " industrial-grade data warehousing" to describe the underlying changes in data warehousing. Industrial-grade data warehouses must be "detail data warehouses" and support On-line Enterprise Reporting (OLER). It is no longer enough to build summary data marts in response to specific project requests. IT organizations are being called on to develop true enterprise data warehouses. In this seminar, Mr. Orr provides an upgraded version of his "Enterprise Data Architecture" that has been used in a great many environments. "Data Warehousing in the 21st Century" is a major upgrade to a seminar that has been taught throughout the world.
What you will learn-
This course is intended to provide the students with a state-of-the-art framework for Data Warehousing (DW) and how DW fits into the overall IT systems architecture. The seminar also addresses what large organizations are learning about implementing large-scale, “industrial-grade” data warehouses. This seminar focuses on what the practical considerations are in dealing with these very large, atomic level data warehouses and how to implement them in an incremental fashion.
This course also provides the students with a practical means of balancing performance, flexibility, scalability, ease-of-use, data quality and auditablility through the use of a proven Enterprise Data Architecture (EDA) developed by Ken Orr and used throughout the world. The course also focuses on the absolute importance of data quality and what organizations are learning about data quality as the result of their data warehousing experience.
